Exploring Bordeaux

Exploring Bordeaux

At the start of this year, I made a commitment to incorporate more "play" into my life. One way I'm doing this is by traveling more. I love exploring new places, so I've been going on short weekend getaways and longer trips to step outside my comfort zone and experience something new.

A few weeks ago, I returned from a trip to Bordeaux, France (here are a few of the highlights). This was my first time in France, and Bordeaux is one of my favorite wine grapes, so I could not wait for this trip. My AirBnB ended up being 3 stories and my bedroom was on the top floor. Needless to say, my thighs got worked out every day.

I went wine tasting every day the first three days and I have no regrets! The wine was just as good as you would expect but the wineries were more gorgeous than I thought they would be.

Because the Paris Olympics will be starting soon, the Olympic torch was still making its way through the country and coincidentally, the route came through our neighborhood. We got a really good view of the torch and got to enjoy a little festival that was following the torch.

The only real drawback of the trip was that it rained almost every day. And when I rained, I mean RAINED. Our first day we got caught in a downpour on our way in from the airport, and I'll just say it was less than ideal. The good news is that we did get a few days of absolutely gorgeous weather. We made the best of those by hanging outside in the square, drinking champagne and enjoying each others company.

I had a great time and I can't wait for my next trip to France. Have you ever been to France? If so, respond to me at hello@saintenel.com and tell me where your favorite place is in France.
